Located in the Near North Side, Old Town is a historic neighborhood with a rich story. Founded in the 1850s by German settlers, the area later became an artistic center and hosted the Old Town Holiday, an annual art fair. It was the midwestern hub of yippie counter-culture, led by political activist and anarchist Abbie Hoffman. Today, that eccentric vibe lives on in the form of Second City comedy, a tapestry of chic restaurants, and vibrant nightlife.
